Walmart Welfare?
A website called "Goodjobsfirst.org" has just released an interesting report about Walmart. It seems that despite being the largest company on the planet, and the largest private employer in the USA, they recieve billions in government corporate welfare. Thats right, Walmart, the company that's putting thousands of businesses out of business is on the dole for over a billion dollars a year. This corporate welfare comes mostly from cities and states via tax abatements and tax credits. My question is why the hell does Walmart need any welfare when they are the largest company in the world? It is the smaller startups and high-tech companies that should be getting it, not the company responsible for sending more jobs to China than any other company. If anything they should have to pay higher taxes.
