Taiwan mulling multi-billion dollar wind power projects

Taiwan's state power company is planning a wind-power project estimated to cost at least 120 billion Taiwan dollars (3.76 billion US) as oil prices hit record levels, an official said. America is the worlds leader in installed wind projects. Here is an opportunity for American companies like GE to export for a change. President Bush is concerned about the spread of nuclear technology, here is a chance to an alertnative to it that also improve our economy.

Countries in Asia are growing rapidly economically and are in desperate need of electricity. Electricity is the power of the future. Gone are the days when factories are run by steam or water-wheels. Except for transportation, every modern device runs off of electricity.

American Thomas Edison pioneered the idea of the electric age. Now Asia wants to be like us, and that requires power. Regardless of what happens in Iraq, the law of supply and demand states when you have more consumers and a limited supply of oil, costs will go up.
